NorthPointe’s Summer BBQ Event Today at 3:30

It looks like the temperatures are finally going to be reasonable this weekend.  Are you looking for some free outdoor fun with your family and friends in the Southern Tier? I know where I'll  be.

It's NorthPointe's Summer BBQ Event, Sunday beginning at 3:30 at Thunder Lake, just a few miles past Chenango Valley State Park.  I was there setting up and there is something for everybody. There will be live music and games like volleyball, horseshoes and can jam.

You can go paddle boating and canoeing (free).  I decided to "test drive" one of the paddle boats yesterday. I made the mistake of letting my brother in law steer the boat. He said he wanted to take the scenic route around Thunder Lake, I think he needs to learn how to navigate the thing.

Bring your swim trunks and do some swimming. There's even a floating dock. They'll have activities including a pie eating contest.

What do you need to bring? Sun tan lotion and bug spray.  A lawn blanket if you like.  If you want to bring a Frisbee that is welcome too. Oh yeah, bring your sense of humor too. Most important though is to bring your friends and family and leave your troubles at home.
