One disadvantage being in the Binghamton and Broome County areas is the travel time to major airports. There are airports within driving distance, yes, but most only offer indirect flights to leisure locations. That is about to change this summer with a discount airline offering cheap, non-stop flights to music city.

Allegiant Air will begin offering non-stop, twice a week flights from Syracuse to Nashville beginning this upcoming June 14th.

Patrons will be able to fly Thursdays and Sundays, making a long weekend trip to Nashville and its rich music history possible from Syracuse Hancock International and Nashville International.

With the announcement of this exciting new venture, Allegiant is offering drastically reduced prices for these flights. One-way fares will start at $49, and go upwards of $98 for a roundtrip flight. Promotional flights must be purchased by Wednesday April 4th.

More information can be found at Allegiant.com.

In my opinion this is a phenomenal announcement. With the rapid growth of country music and its fanbase, Nashville is becoming one of the hottest destinations to travel too. More and more Upstate New Yorkers will get to experience live country music from where it all begins.
