The NYS Fair is underway in Syracuse. If you've been debating on what day to go, I suggest today. There is some great country music playing today at the Chevy Court including a newly married man.

Today at 2:00pm, it's the Oak Ridge Boys. Congratulations to William Lee Golden. He married Simone Staley on Saturday. Their love story is like a fairytale with a rekindled friendship over 27 years.

They became friends in 1980. Their lives went in two different directions after a show in 1982, and they lost touch.

In May of 2009, they both had recently lost their mothers, they reignited their friendship and bonded over their mutual love of art and painting. In fact, Staley had painted a portrait of Golden in the mid-80's.

In the summer of 2013, Golden invited Simone to come to Tennessee and go to Alabama and Florida with him to visit family and friends.

The time spent traveling together allowed them to get to know one another even better and they knew that they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together.

This past Saturday (8/28), they made it official in a private ceremony with fellow Oak Ridge Boys, Duane Allen, Richard Sterban and Joe Bonsall. Congrats to William Lee and Simone!

If I can make it to the show this afternoon, I will sing "Elvira" with them.....in the comfort of my seat.

Also tonight at the NYS Fair, Joe Nichols will perform at the Chevy Court beginning at 8:00pm. The Fair runs through Labor Day, September 7th.
