America's 5th Zoo is adding a new attraction and it begins this weekend.

Do you remember riding the train at the Binghamton Zoo at Ross Park? Maybe you're not old enough to remember the train. Great news, the train is back and it's called the Binghamton Zoo Express.

If you're saying, "I don't remember seeing train tracks at the zoo?" There aren't any because it's a trackless train ride.

The Binghamton Zoo was established in 1875. The Cannonball Express was the first train ride attraction at the zoo. Then in 1963, the Ross Park Special started up and gave the kids (as well as adults) memories for a lifetime. It roamed until 1986.

Now the Binghamton Zoo Express chugs into the zoo beginning this Saturday, September 17th. It'll have have three cars with eye-catching graphics.

The train ride will run weekends till October 9th and will be open from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm. Ride tickets are only $3.00 per person. If you want to take some train memorabilia home with you, it's available in the Zoovenirs Gift Shop.

While you're at the zoo, check out the expanded Children's Zoo area. You will be able to to pet the miniature horses and donkey in their new exhibits.

The Binghamton Zoo is at 60 Morgan Road. I remember riding the train as a child and now am looking forward to riding it with my kids. CHOO-CHOO.
