National Mobility Awareness Month Help Locals Kalen & Kyan Win A Handicapped Accessible Van

Whenever a story like this comes up I'm always reminded how incredibly fortunate I am to have 3 healthy kids at home.  These two young boys Kalen & Kyan from Port Crane have both been diagnosed with the terminal disease Spinal Muscular Atrophy, Type 2.  SMA does not allow the body to produce the protein essential for the muscles of the body to thrive, resulting in deterioration. SMA first attacks the legs and arms, core muscles, and ultimately the ability to digest, swallow, and breathe.  SMA is the number one genetic killer of children under age 2.  Kalen and Kyan are just 2 and 1 years old.

We can help give these two little ones a complete and normal life, just like all other children their ages deserve.  In order to do this, they need to have access to a handicapped accessible vehicle. Not only for one little miracle, but for two.
