I wonder if the day will ever come that we'll see full blown concerts featuring holographic images of artists who've passed away.

Michael Jackson has been gone since June of 2009, but came to life again last night at the Billboard Music Awards thanks to modern technology.

Michael's hologram materialized and showed him sprawled out on a throne surrounded with dancers. After he slid off the throne, Michael took the stage and showed off some of his signature moves, even moonwalking through pyrotechnics all while singing his newest song, 'Slave to the Rhythm.' The song is from Michael's album 'Xcape,' which was released after his death and includes material by  by various artists.

Michael Jackson isn't the only artist who's hologram has been used in a performance. Among recent holographic appearances were Janelle Monae and M.I.A who shared the stage in April, even though they were 3,000 miles apart and Tupac Shakur's hologram was shown at the 2012 Coachella festival.
