What's a judge to do when a man calls 911 and threatens to kill a police officer?  Make him wear a sign in full sight of everyone telling the world that he's an idiot, that's what.

This kids is why you should never cross an officer of the law. 58-year-old Richard Dameron of Cleveland claims he was drunk (you think?) and got a little out of  out of control when he called 911 and threatened to kill Officer Simone, a retired officer who was shot twice in his career, including once in the head. But Richard learned the hard way that no amount of verbal apologizing would get him off the chain.

The judge ordered Richard to wear a bright yellow sign for three hours each day every day this week in front of the police station during the morning commute. The sign reads "I apologize to Officer Simone and all police officers for being an idiot, calling and threatening you.  I'm sorry and it will never happen again."

Richard said: "I get drunk a lot of times and I make a fool out of myself.'
