Wow, has this summer flown by or what!  So what tells you that summer is done? There are a couple of events to choose from and one of them for me is the Johnson City Field Days.

It begins today and runs through Monday. It's the 49th annual Johnson City Field Days happening at Northside Park on Harry L. Drive.

The Field Days  runs from 6 to 11 tonight . On Saturday, Sunday and Monday, the Field Days go from noon til 11pm. Labor Day Monday enjoy fireworks that begin at 9:30. Admission is free all weekend. Monday’s fireworks begin at 9:30.

If your kids are like my kids, they love to ride the rides. Here's what it'll cost ya. All weekend rides are just $2.00 each, or buy 10 rides for $15.00.

They are doing a special on Saturday from 1-4 pm. Get  4 rides for $5.00, but these tickets must be used during this time frame.

The Broome County Sheriff Department will have a table set up from 12 to 5 on Saturday and Sunday. You can enroll your child in the Safe Child ID Program. It is free for this program.

The Broome County Fire Fighter’s Association’s Fire Safety Trailer will be at Field Days on Saturday from 12 to 4. There is no cost for children to tour this trailer.

Finally we like to be entertained with live music and the Johnson City Field Days is helping with that as well. Here's whose performing:

  • FRI: 7-10 SPLASH
  • SAT: 12-2 FIVE DAYS BACK; 3-5 REPRISE 2016; 7-10 THE NIK GRAVELDING BAND
  • SUN 2-6 TONY’S POLKA BAND; 7-10 ROOSTER AND THE ROADHOUSE HORNS
  • MON 2-5 MILES AHEAD; 6-9 OLD FRIENDS

You can celebrate the end of summer and you can do it in our backyard.
