How To Interpret A Cat’s Body Language

These animals have always confused me. I did learn from a TV show that patting their head like a dog was not generally what they like. It's their cheek and upper shoulder that you pet... Otherwise I never could figure out what to do to keep a cat happy. As a child I always had dogs.
