Now I'm not trying to give you any hints or anything, but your have to wonder if there's a time in your life where you just have to say "You know what, I can't go any farther or anywhere else. I'm gonna have to just stay put." I mean how old is too old to start a new path? I am a firm believer in saying nothing is impossible. Where you're not supposed to tell anyone they can't do something.

But this survey tho...

The survey asked people to name the age when someone's too old to switch careers.  And the average answer is 41. It found people basically feel trapped in their career path by 36, and they feel like they hit the point of not being able to start again by their early 40's.

I say don't let that hold you back if you're in your 40's or even older, and you want to switch careers.  31% of people of all ages say they still think about changing once or twice a month.

The top five things that hold them back are:  Not knowing what else to do, worrying they won't be good at anything else, the risk, worrying about providing for their kids,  and not wanting to go back to school.
