Harry Potter Fans Take Over Ithaca Saturday

If you or someone in your family is a big fan of Harry Potter, a trip to Ithaca may be necessary Halloween Day. Saturday the street of Press Bay Alley will be transformed in to a magic filled landscape of Harry Potter's Diagon Alley, which most events at this very cool funfest will be free to attend.

Wizarding Weekend is a family-friendly event that takes place Halloween day 1-6pm beginning at 118 West Green Street in Ithaca. At last check, more than 7,000 fans have RSVP'd on Facebook that they would be there.

MTV reports every shop on the street is participating, with many shopkeepers expected to dress up in Hogwarts-like attire. In addition, fans who are lucky enough to secure a ticket will be able to enjoy special showings of "Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets" and "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" in the historic State Theater of Ithaca.

Kids 12 and under who dress in costume will also get a chance to trick-or-treat for candy at many locations along the street.
