Running 4 A Reason, the 3rd Annual 5K Run/Walk, is scheduled to take place on Saturday June 1, 2013 at 9:00 A.M. at the Ball Flats in Greene.  This year's recipient will be Janette Hissin. Janette and her husband Chuck moved to Greene 33 years ago and raised their two children Andrea and David here. For the past 26 years, Janette has been a Teacher's Aide at Greene Community Nursery School (GCNS). Recently, she was diagnosed with an inoperable small cell lung cancer. As a result, she has been forced to abruptly leave the pre-school to tend to her health.  To make matters more challenging Janette does not have health insurance and is not age eligible for Medicare.  Janette has always been a kind-hearted and giving person, she has put the needs of others ahead of her own all of her life. After doing a quick calculation, "Miss Janette" (as her students and their families know her) has brought joy to over 800 children in the Greene community.  What better way to repay our thanks and gratitude  by helping ease some of her stress by surrounding her with the love and consideration she has so graciously provided her students and their families.
