The weather this weekend sounds like it will be a bit more milder so there may be some opportunities to enjoy something more than just raking the yard.  I know, don't remind me!

The Harvest and Harmony dinner and auction is Friday at Our Lady of Good Council Church, 701 West Main Street in Endicott. Doors open at 6 pm with entertainment by  Binghamton University Good Vibrations. Proceeds benefit Samaritan Counseling Center.

There is a penny social tonight at the Leraysville Community Hall. Doors open at 6 and there will be door prizes, a bake sale, food baskets, and more! benefits the Leraysville Order of the Eastern Star.

The Endicott Elks Friday dinner is with guest chef Don Miller along with their regular menu. Serving is 5 to 7 pm. Then, from 8 to 11 pm, it's local favorite Rich Wilson.

The Thompson United Methodist Church, 586 Main Street in Thompson, PA, is having a roast beef supper on Saturday at 5 pm. Eat in or take out.

St. Mary's, Route 11 in Kirkwood is hosting a Harvest Supper on Saturday from 4 to 7:30 pm with halupki, ham and all the trimmings.

The Little Meadows (PA) United Methodist Church on Route 858, is having a rummage and bake sale on Saturday from 9 am to 3 pm with bag sale at 2. Lunch will be available.

The Sanataria Springs Fire Company's Turkey/Ham Raffle is Saturday at 7 pm. Doors open at 6 pm.

The 5th Annual Brazieres for Hope, to benefit Traci's Hope, is Saturday from 1 to 6:30 pm at the Vestal Elks Lodge at 2072 Vestal Parkway West. Silent auction, refreshments and of course decorated bras on display!

St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 200 Jefferson Ave. in Endicott, hosts a rummage sale on Saturday from 9 am to 3 pm with a bag sale from 1 to 3.

The Maine American Legion Post 1390, Route 26, is having a chicken and biscuit dinner on Saturday from 4 to 7 pm. All you can eat.

Church Women United Coffee Hour is Sunday from 3 to 4:30 pm at the First Congregational Church, 30 Main Street in Binghamton.

The Center for Holistic Services, 4513 Old Vestal Road, is hosting an open house on Saturday from10 am to 2 pm. Find out about Yoga, Acupuncture, Nutrition and more.

The Oxford Lions Club is having a free screening program, Screening Eyes Early at Oxford Pre-Schools and at the Lion's Annual Halloween Parade and Party Sunday at the Oxford Fire Station. Registration begins at 1 pm and the parade is at 1:30.
Allen Memorial Baptist Church in Candor is having their 2nd Annual Trunk or Treat on October 31st from 5:30 to 8 pm. Free and open to the public with candy, food, drinks, and fun.

Southerntiersmen Barbershop Chorus is performing at the African Road Middle School at 1:30 and 7 pm on Saturday. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door.

All Saints Church, 42 Harry L Drive in JC, is having a take out chicken bbq on Sunday from 10 am until sold out.

The 11th Annual Greater Whitney Point are Fall Festival is Saturday from 9 am to 7 pm at Tioughnioga Riverside Academy on Route 11. There will be crafts, food, exhibits and demonstrations, entertainment, photo and baking contests.

The League of Women Voters of Broome and Tioga Counties is hosting a debate between candidates for Broome County Sheriff, David Harder and Christopher Bracco on October 29th at 7 pm at the Southern Tier Independence Center. It is free and open to all. Election Day is November 4th.

The Broome County Public Library's monthly short story program The Hungry Ear celebrates Halloween on Tuesday at 5:30 pm.. It's free and open to the public.

The Town of Owego is picking up leaves only beginning October 27th and ending November 14th. Leaves accepted in biodegradable bags only. There will be no brush pick up this fall.
