Listen up Southern Tier reality TV fans.  I hate to break this to you but, TLC is canceling it's once popular 'Here Comes Honey Boo Boo' altogether, following troubling reports that “Mama June” Shannon had resumed a relationship with a convicted child molester.

As originally reported by TMZ, the network evidently got wind of the fact that the Shannon matriarch had again begun dating Mark McDaniel, who had previously been convicted of aggravated child molestation of an 8 year-old in 2004, and served time. Despite June's claims to the contrary, TLC apparently determined the report convincing enough, issuing the following statement:

TLC has canceled the series Here Comes Honey Boo Boo and ended all activities around the series, effective immediately. Supporting the health and welfare of these remarkable children is our only priority. TLC is faithfully committed to the children’s ongoing comfort and well-being.

June has since taken to social media to deny the claim she and McDaniel had resumed their relationship after his release from prison (June and family patriarch David Michael 'Sugar Bear' Thompson ended their marriage earlier this year), though TLC seems to be keeping firm with a decision not to shoot a fifth season.

The show that was once described as "an accident you can't help but watch," will now go to reality TV heaven/hell, depending how you look at it.  It's my hope the TLC (The Learning Channel) will actually replace it with something that will educate American TV viewers.  After all, it is called The Learning Channel!

So what do you think?  Will you miss 'Here Comes Honey Boo Boo'?
