This time of year, we're heading outside after work instead of hibernating on the couch and we're taking advantage of warm, sunny days to use some of our vacation time.

If your idea of the perfect summer day is basking in the sunshine with a cool adult beverage in your hand and you plan to enjoy drinks from day to evening, there are some summertime day drinking tips you might want to memory bank.

    Don't Start With a Hangover

    If you're feeling hungover because you consumed several drinks the day before, hold off on a day drinking session. You never want to start drinking with a hangover from the night before. Not only will you feel crummy all day, but you won't make it very far into the night.

    Eat. A lot.

    Whatever you do, don't skip a meal before drinking. You also should make sure that you continue to eat through the day.

    Pace Yourself

    It's easy to suck down cold drinks when the day is really hot, but you need to try to pace yourself. Make sure that you drink something like water between adult beverages. You need to stay hydrated and drinking water between adult drinks will also help the next day's hangover not be so awful.

    Avoid Hard Liquor

    Shots of vodka? Not really the best idea if you're day drinking. Unless you want to pass out long before the sun goes down. Then go for it.
