Qualifying is over for the Daytona 500 and history has been made.

Danica Patrick will be on the front row, Sunday afternoon when the green flag flies for the official beginning of the 2013 NASCAR season.  This makes her the first woman to start on the pole for the Daytona 500.  It may be the first time that a woman has started on the pole for any NASCAR event.  Today's qualifying locked in the top 2 spots for next Sunday's race on FOX 40.  Joining Danica is Jeff Gordon. The rest of the starting order will be determined Thursday afternoon with the Budweiser Duels beginning at 2pm on Speed Channel with the 2nd race beginning about 3:30.  The Daytona 500 will be on FOX 40, Sunday at 1pm. To find out how your favorite driver did today go to www.nascar.com.

The joke going around Facebook today is that history was made with 2 girls on the front row.  I'm not saying I agree with that but it is a little funny.
