Steven Reid of STK Partners said the cleared property will be used for parking for the project the company is developing in an existing building. He said the lot, which will be graded and covered with gravel, will be finished next year. It will have between 50 and 60 parking spaces.

Renovation work has been underway for several months in the five-story structure at the corner of Chenango and Eldredge streets.

Reid said the project will feature apartments that will house 50 people. The units are to be marketed to students.

The apartments will feature what's been described as an "industrial" theme with exposed brick walls.

Reid said the complex will include a cafe and lounge space on the building's ground floor.
