Boxed – Traci’s App Review

A case of diapers for under $35? Definitely a thrifty mama's dream come true!

One thing I learned very quickly as a first time mom is how insanely fast babies go through diapers. I swear that there are days my little guy thinks he's in a 'how-many-diapers-can-you-burn-through' relay. Before our son was born, my husband and I clipped coupons and looked for sales and stocked up on diapers and thought for sure that we had a nice stockpile that would last us until the baby started to potty train. Wrong.

Frantic at our need to stock up on more diapers and frustrated with the outrageous cost, my husband and I looked for the best way to get what we needed and save money. So what did we do? We ponied up for a membership to a club store so that we could save some money on supplies for our little guy. That lasted about two months and then I learned about an app called "Boxed."

I'm not saying that we won't ever go to the club store again because we spent money for the membership, but I'm not sure that we'll renew when the time comes because Boxed offers us everything we were buying at the store, but we don't have to leave our house, which means we save on gas. Bonus!

I love how easy it is to navigate though the item list and to select things to add to my shopping cart. I recently picked up a case of 174 name brand diapers for under $38. Seriously- that's like 22 cents a diaper. If you buy diapers at retail, the cost per diaper is roughly 41 cents each. So I saved almost half. Score!

So shipping has to be insanely expensive, right? Actually, 95% of orders qualify for free shipping and orders that don't cost $6-$10 to ship.
