Another work week ahead and more construction projects to let you know about.  The New York State Department of Transportation today announced that construction work for the Prospect Mountain construction project will be performed and will require lane closures in the City of Binghamton and the Town of Dickinson.

Starting Monday, October 19th through this Friday from 9am to 3pm, Route 17 Eastbound will be reduced to one lane between the Airport Road exit (#71) and Exit 72 (Front Street) for concrete pavement work.

Beginning on Monday, October 19th at 9pm thru Tuesday morning at 6am, Route 17 Eastbound will be reduced to one lane between Exit 71 (Airport Road) and Exit 72 (Front Street) for overhead sign structure work.  That means the right two lanes will be closed.

Additional work this week includes the following that will delay travel between 9am-3pm:  Rt. 17 Westbound will be reduced to one lane near Exit 72, I-81 Southbound will be reduced to one lane between Exit 5 (Front Street) and Exit 4 (Binghamton), and I-81 Northbound will be reduced to one lane between Exit 4 (Binghamton) and Exit 5 (Front Street).

Also going on Monday thru Friday from 7am to 5pm are alternating lane closures in the City of Binghamton, these areas include: Front Street between Prospect Street and the Route 18 off-ramp at Exit 72 and Prospect Street between the Prospect Connector Road and Front Street.

All work will be performed weather permitting.
