Binghamton Restaurant Week continues and you have until Thursday to take advantage of it. There are several things about BRW that I love. One is that it's a great way to support your local restaurant. Another is it gives me a chance to try something that I might not have tried otherwise. That is true when I went to South Side Yanni's.

I went there for lunch, this is what was offered:

First Course: Choice of Soup or Salad

Second Course: Quesadilla (Vegetable, Chicken or Buffalo Chicken), Black & Bleu Burger w/Side, Rueben Sandwich w/Side, Citrus Chicken Salad, Broccoli & Cheese Quiche w/Side

Third Course: Pumpkin or Chocolate Chip Cannoli

My 1st course was soup. I tried the Sweet Chili soup. It was outstanding. I really wanted to try another bowl and "claim" I wasn't sure so I needed to try some more. I even recommended to Dawn, that she try to make this at home.

2nd course was the Black & Bleu Burger. I wouldn't have ordered that normally but I'm glad I did. I learned something, Bleu cheese on a burger is not Blue cheese dressing. I liked it better.

3rd course was the Chocolate Chip Cannoli. I never would have tried this either, once again I'm glad I did.

Traci and I have been saying all along that the great thing about BRW is that it's a great opportunity to try a restaurant you haven't tried before or it's a chance to try something different at a restaurant you've gone to before.

So you still have time for Binghamton Restaurant Week (Thursday) and a portion of the proceeds is donated to Our Space and CHOW Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse. Here's more about Binghamton Restaurant Week.
