Binghamton Firefighters Are “Fired Up” to Support MDA

As you’re driving around today, you might notice Binghamton firefighters on the streets. They’re volunteering their time to participate in the “Fill the Boot” fundraiser by collecting money from those willing to donate. Donations can also be dropped at the Binghamton Fire Department Headquarters at located at 38 Hawley Street until 4pm.

For the past six decades, firefighters have supported the MDA’s mission to find treatments and cures for life-threatening muscle diseases. In 2013, Binghamton firefighters collected over $6,000 through Fill the Boot campaign and their goal for this year is to raise $8,000!

Proceeds from Fill the Boot also help provide comprehensive health care and support services for over 600 local families including: three clinics provided free of charge to client families, annual summer camp at Sunshine Rotary Campus in Rush, NY, assistance with repairs of medical equipment, and an equipment loan program.
