Beef Day at the Great New York State Fair
They will celebrate the beef industry with cook-offs and contests at Chevy Court on Tuesday, August 29th. Last year, more than 78,000 people attended the Fair on Beef Day.
New this year, they are getting together with the Food Bank of CNY to collect beef donations for those in need. You can go to the Beef Barn and participate in the “Pound Out Hunger” campaign.
Swing a sledgehammer and pound a vehicle for only $2 for one swing or $5 for three with the proceeds going toward beef purchases for New Yorkers in need.
The Beef Barn will have something for everyone beginning at 9 am including a scavenger hunt and a hay bale throwing contest. While you’re there get a selfie with industry mascot Beefman.
The 11th Annual “Create the Perfect Burger” Contest will follow at 12:30 pm in the Chevy Court Pavilion, as 10 Future Farmers of America (FFA) chapters will compete for the title of “Perfect Burger.”
Once again, Beef Day is August 29th and the Great New York State Fair runs from August 23rd to September 4th.
