Beef Day at the Great New York State Fair
They will celebrate the beef industry with cook-offs and contests today (8/29) at Chevy Court. Last year, more than 78,000 people attended the Fair on Beef Day.
New this year, they are getting together with the Food Bank of CNY to collect beef donations for those in need. You can go to the Beef Barn and participate in the "Pound Out Hunger" campaign.
For only 2 bucks a swing or for 5 dollars you can take three swings of a sledgehammer with all the money raised to buy beef for those in need in New York. While you're there get a selfie with mascot Beefman.
The 11th Annual "Create the Perfect Burger" Contest will follow at 12:30 pm in the Chevy Court Pavilion, as 10 Future Farmers of America (FFA) chapters will compete for the title of "Perfect Burger."
Once again, Beef Day is Tuesday, August 29th and the Great New York State Fair runs from August 23rd to September 4th.
