While at Broome Community College today, I was able to be a part of the 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony held outside at 11am. It was a very nice ceremony.

"Broome Community College President Dr. John Deans hosted a brief remembrance ceremony in honor of the 8th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 11, 2009 at the flagpole in front of the Darwin Wales Administration Building on campus. Dr. Deans offered a few remarks and then lead faculty, staff and students in a moment of silence." -BCC Weekly

President Dr. John Deans brought to attention that many of the public service workers that lost their lives that day were SUNY and CUNY alumni that had gained their education in one of the states educational institution to do that very job. The ceremony concluded with a volunteer fireman bagpiper that played Amazing Grace after the moment of silence.
