When I'm driving around the Southern Tier, I seem to be seeing more and more American Red Cross Community Blood Drive signs.  I know the need for blood is always great. Here's one that's going on today.

NorthPointe at 126 East Service Road (next to My Uncles Place) in Hillcrest is hosting a Red Cross blood drive today. It's from 1-6pm. You can schedule an appointment here or just walk in. Walk-ins are always welcome.

Blood donors with type O- ,A- and B- are needed now. Did you know that 1 pint of your blood can save 3 lives?

New donors are always needed. I was apprehensive the first time I gave blood. Well the 1st time was 2004. The reason I remember the year is because I had to give blood after I found out Tara was on the way.

It took me 9 years to do it again. I really don't know why I waited so long. I did it last year and I planned this whole routine  to help me get through it. It turns out that I didn't need it, it was quick and painless.....At least painless for me, I can't speak for the volunteer who took my blood.

If you can't give today but would like to help or start your own blood drive, go here.
