Meet Craig Campbell, one of our five acts taking the stage at the Hawk's Toyota Country Lights Festival at NYSEG Stadium this Friday,  July 10th. Think you know everything there is to know about Craig? Well, we dug up some stuff that might surprise you!

If you're planning to attend the Hawk's Toyota Country Lights Festival and need to plan things out for your work schedule or a babysitter, gates open at 4:30pm, music starts at 5:15pm and the concert closes at 11pm.

    Small Town Boy

    Craig was born in a little town in Lyons, Georgia. From the age of 10 to the age of 18, Craig played piano and sang in church three times a week.

    Craig Knows the Pain of Loss

    Craig's mom and dad got divorced when he was really little and his older sister Lynn had to step up to help raise him while their mom worked several jobs. Craig's mom married his step-dad when he was seven and when he was 11-years-old, Craig's biological dad passed away.

    Craig's Sister Pushed Him to Sing

    Craig's big sister encouraged him to enter a singing competition when he was 15-years-old and he won. Sadly, Lynn was killed in a car accident just a few months later.

    Craig Worked As a Corrections Officer

    For a short time, Craig worked as a Georgia State corrections officer. It was during this time that he put together a band and called it "Out of the Blue."

    Craig Has a Strong Work Ethic

    Craig credits his step-dad with teaching him to have a strong work ethic. Craig's step-dad died of cancer in 2001.

    Craig is Connected to Luke Bryan

    During his early Nashville days, Craig played piano in Luke Bryan’s band and Luke even encourage Craig to become a songwriter.

    Craig is a Family Man

    Craig got married to fellow country singer Mindy Ellis in 2005. They have two girls, Preslee and Kinni Rose.

    Craig wrote his song "Family Man" during a time in his life when he and his wife were struggling to make ends meet while expecting their first baby

    Craig Fights for Colorectal Awareness

    Craig's biological dad died of colorectal cancer and Craig has made it his life mission to bring awareness that colorectal cancer is preventable and curable if it is diagnosed early.

    Craig "Stole" a Song from Scotty McCreery

    Craig's song “Outta My Head” was supposed to be recorded by Scotty McCreery, but it was accidentally sent to Craig’s and he says he was able to ‘sweet talk’ Scotty into letting him record the song instead.
