Investigators believe speed was a factor in a town of Windsor crash that resulted in the death of a woman.

According to the Broome County Sheriff's Office, 54-year-old Cindy Rowe of Harpursville was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say the crash was reported around 6:55 p.m. Thursday. They say a 2005 Chevrolet Impala was traveling south on Seward Road when it went off the roadway on a curve.

Investigators say when the car left the roadway, it rolled over and came to rest in Sage Creek.

Sheriff's deputies were assisted by a nearby resident in performing CPR until an ambulance crew arrived.

The sheriff's office was assisted by Eastern Broome EMS, the Oquagua Fire Department and the Windsor Fire Department.

The scene was a short distance away from a fatal crash that occurred on August 1. In that incident, 57-year-old Stephen Rynearson of Windsor died after the van he was driving went off Route 79 and struck a tree.
