So have you been watching the Olympics? There have been a lot of strange things going on there. Even before the Olympics began, there was trouble.

For example, the  Olympic Village had exposed wires and unsanitary conditions. The USA Men's and Women's basketball team is staying on a cruise ship instead.

A kayaker hit a submerged sofa in the river during a practice run and body parts have been found in the sand near the Olympic beach volleyball site.

That's only the beginning. This year's message seems to be about environmental responsibility. From the pro environment message during the Opening Ceremonies to not giving flowers to the medal winners.

WHAT!!!! No flowers for the winners. Why not? According to Yahoo Sports, it has to do with helping the environment.

With over 2,500 medal winners, that would require so many flowers that would only be used once. It doesn't sound like the responsible environmental thing for them to do. So instead, they'll be handing out small wooden sculptures with the Rio Olympic logo.

Question: Aren't wooden sculptures made of trees?

On a totally unrelated but relevant side note, I will give kudos to this. The medals for the Paralympic winners will make different sounds when shaken. That way the vision impaired winners will know what medal they won.
