Veterans Day falls on a Friday this year.  what's great is the November 11th holiday makes for a long deserved weekend to enjoy with their friends and families.

A good way to start your day is when the City of Binghamton salute area Veterans with a Veterans Day parade scheduled for 2pm in downtown Binghamton.  Look for the parade to begin from the American LEgion on Main Street, and ending at the Floyd L Maines Veterans Memorial Arena in Binghamton.  As I'm writing this post, it looks as thought the weather will cooperate but you can check the latest forecast by clicking HERE.

Here is what is open and closed Friday:

Banks: Closed.

Financial markets: Closed.

Government offices: City, county, state and federal offices are closed.

Libraries: The Broome County library and all city branches are closed.

Mail: No mail. Post offices are closed.

Mall: Oakdale Mall and other shopping centers are open.

Trash collection: If you are expecting a garbage pickup Friday in the City of Binghamton, you will have to wait until Monday (November 14). Other municipal and private haulers may work on a different schedule. Please check with them for scheduled pickup.
