With all the bad days that we've been having in 2020, you wouldn't think that we would need to have a "Bad Day" Day. This day was originally created for those in the customer service field.

If you are working at the customer help desk at Price Chopper or a register at Aldis, you'll end your spiel with "Have a good day" even if the customer hasn't' earned it by the way they treated you.

In 2020, we all need to show some grace, especially to those who are trying to make your day better. They are doing their best and if they ask you to put on your mask, they are doing it because they care...or it's part of their job.

Here's something novel for 2020, if you're having a bad day, try to embrace it. WHAT! It's 2020 and you'll drive yourself bonkers if you let all the bad days get to you. Do this instead: Try to embrace and accept it.

Look for someone who is having a bad day and be the difference that they need. When you help someone to feel better, you'll feel better. Sometimes all it takes is a smile...which I know is tough to see behind your mask.

I'm sure you've heard the saying "If it was easy then everyone would be doing it." Well everyone seems to be having a bad day because it's easy to have one in 2020. So do what's hard and surprise yourself.

Be the difference for someone by deciding to be cheery despite the fact that everything around you is going sideways. These bad days won't last forever, although it may feel like it at the moment.

I like what Neil Cavuto said once, "There's nothing wrong about having a bad day. There's everything wrong with making others have it...with you."
