Watch The Highlights from CV Grad Justin Topa’s MLB Debut [VIDEO]
A Chenango Valley gradute made his MLB pitching debut Tuesday night, although it was a short appearance.
Milwaukee Brewer and former Chenango Valley pitcher Justin Topa was called up on Monday to the Brewers' squad after initially being added to the team's 60-man roster in July. On Tuesday, the Brewers had a dud game against the Detroit Tigers.
Topa entered the game at the top of the sixth inning, with the Brewers already being down to the Tigers 4-0.
The night began rough with Topa allowing a two-run moonshot to Victor Reyes.
Luckily, those were the only two runs that Topa would allow in his two innings of work before being replaced on the mound.
All in all it was a rough night for all the Brewers players, losing to the Tigers 12-1.

Topa was drafted in 2013 by the Pittsburgh Pirates following his college career at LIU Brooklyn. He went winless in minor league ball in 2019 with a 2.63 ERA.
