Vestal Police to Chat With Residents, Launch Officer Health App.
The Vestal Police Department is hosting a casual conversation about the Department and its interaction with the community.
According to a post on the Department's Facebook page, the Police Administration says "There is no agenda other than having some conversations. If you have questions or concerns regarding the department, you are welcome to bring them to the table."
The session is also available for residents who would just like to meet and chat with Police Administrators.
Anyone wishing to attend on March 30 from 6-8 p.m. is asked to contact Capt. Christopher Streno at (607) 754-2477.
Meanwhile, the Vestal Police Department has a new app. dealing with an important officer health issue.
The app. for officers and their families includes a mental health toolkit that addresses issues like Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, anxiety and depression that naturally come from such a high-stress job as law enforcement.
There is also information about nutrition, alcohol use and suicide prevention.
A limited version of the app. is available for use by the general public. That version provides general department information, accident reports, news items, police (including use-of-force protocol), road closure advisories and contact information.
