Now, Spectrum News is reporting that Chick-Fil-A has contacted Vestal Town Supervisor John Schaffer about opening a location in the town.  The Democrat Supervisor also says Firehouse Subs is taking over space vacated by Jimmy John’s subs in a strip plaza near Binghamton University.  Jimmy John’s closed after falling behind on tax payments.

Schaffer says other businesses expressing interest in the Parkway or possible locations in an expanded retail district off the Parkway include Trader Joe’s and Buffalo Wildwings.

Excavation work is currently started on the development of a new Hilton Hotel on a lot that had been home to a furniture store and a house a short distance west of the B.U. Vestal campus.
