Few areas of the Southern Tier of New York and Northern Tier of Pennsylvania are managing to avoid upticks in cases of COVID-19 over the past week.

Broome County is reporting 31 new cases of the coronavirus on Sunday, September 27.  The county now has 1,483 cases.

Binghamton University reported three additional positive tests for a total of 62 while SUNY Broome Community College was unchanged over the past seven days with a total of four positive test results for the coronavirus. 

Chenango County added one for a total of 249. Cortland County’s cases increased by four to 225.   

Delaware County noted an additional case for a total of 121 since the start of the pandemic while Tioga County added eight positives September 27 for a total of 250. 

New York State September 28 reported 834 new cases for a total of 456,460 since the start of the pandemic in March and 11 additional deaths for a total of 25,468 lives lost in the state due to COVID-19.  

Pennsylvania has a total of 156,826 confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 and 8,107 deaths. 

Bradford County added 40 cases over the past two weeks to 156 but the death toll remains at three. Susquehanna County added only three cases over the past two weeks for a total of 293 cases and the death toll remaining at 28.  Wayne County added 30 cases since September 16 for a total of 234 and the death toll remained unchanged at 10.
