Unique Baby Names Already Trending in 2014

We’re not even a halfway through the first month of 2014 and already we’re talking trending baby names!

Every year, NameCandy releases the first names chosen by people who became parents on January 1^st and if this year’s list is any indication, the trend in baby names will be uniqueness.

Of the first babies to be born in each of the 50 states, only one name was repeated and that name is Brooklyn.  Other names include Malakai, Dior, Gwineth, Prantison, Nash, McKenlee, Dante, Naythyn, Watson and Jacktavious.

That’s quite a difference from last year’s top names which were Kennedi, Klara, Kaleb, Kiera, Kent, Colton, Connor and Cohen.

Apparently my sister and sister-in-law didn't peek at the trending names when they were picking out baby names last year.  New to our family are Oliver Preston and Sadie Lynn. And I'm perfectly happy with those names.
