Union-Endicott Bowler Sets National Record
On Saturday, history was made at Midway Lanes in Vestal.
The section IV Class A Bowling Tournament was taking place, and according to WBNG, Union-Endicott's Ashley Cicciarelli bowled the highest series ever in the history of high school bowling in the United States.
Her three-game series featured a 258, 296, and in her final game, Ashley rolled a 300. By setting the new National Record, according to WBNG, Cicciarelli automatically qualified for the singles event at the 2019 U.S. High School Bowling Championship on June 23rd and 24th in Indianapolis, Indiana.
While my stepson Ian attended Union-Endicott, he was on the boys bowling team for a couple of years. We watched some great high school bowlers over the years, but we never saw a 300 game.
I get excited if I bowl a 200 game, which is well above my 152 average.
So congratulations to Ashley and the Union-Endicott Girls Bowling Team, and Good Luck in Indianapolis.
And Ashley, if you have some free time, I was wondering if I could hire you to give me some lessons?
You can see Ashley's final roll in her 300 game here.
