The County does not report in its dashboard the ages of those infected nor the ages of those who have passed away.  In past updates, however, County Executive Jason Garnar had reported a majority of cases are now in younger individuals under the age of 40, unlike last year where the elderly made up the majority of those becoming ill.

Chenango County also reported a new death with 83 residents now victims of the pandemic.  Chenango County had eight new cases. There are 121 active cases and the county says 45 percent of those with illness, 54 individuals, are people who have been vaccinated: so-called breakthrough cases.

Monday, September 20, Broome and Cortland Counties in New York reported additional deaths. Cortland County September 22 said it had 21 new cases, 191 active cases but no additional fatalities with the death toll there remaining at 72.
