Town of Chenango Man Accused of Threatening to Kill Neighbor

Authorities say a Broome County man faces several charges after he allegedly held a baseball bat to the throat of a neighbor and said he was going to kill her.

Investigators say 28-year-old Talon Thomas of the Town of Chenango was arrested early Tuesday after an incident in his apartment building on Norton Drive.

Thomas has been charged with felony burglary. He also faces counts of criminal mischief, criminal obstruction of breathing, resisting arrest and unlawful possession of marijuana.

According to the Broome County Sheriff's Office, deputies were sent to 10 Norton Drive around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday. A woman said Thomas pushed his way into her apartment.

The man allegedly grabbed a baseball bat the woman was holding for protection. Thomas then is said to have pushed and struck her until she fell to the floor.

Thomas allegedly held the bat to the woman's throat, obstructing her airway and threatening to kill her. He is said to have damaged a wall with the bat before leaving the apartment.

Thomas was taken into custody on Upper Front Street a short time later. He was arraigned and released on an appearance ticket.
