Three-County Upstate New York Chase Ends in Dramatic Arrest
Saturday, November 15, took a dangerous turn when deputies spotted a motorcycle flying down Second Street in the Village of Deposit. According to the Broome County Sheriff’s Office, the rider refused to stop and instead pushed the bike harder, taking off onto Old Route 17 and heading toward Sanford. What started as a simple traffic stop quickly escalated into a multi-county chase.
Reckless Riding Spreads the Danger Across County Lines
Deputies stayed with the motorcycle as it tore through Windsor, hitting speeds between 65 and 90 miles per hour. The rider crossed into oncoming traffic more than once, showing little concern for anyone on the road. From there, the chase continued into Colesville, then onto Route 7 and into Chenango County before crossing into Otsego County. The Sheriff’s Office said the rider never slowed down and never showed regard for public safety.
Foot Chase Begins as Motorcycle Fails
When the pursuit reached the Town of Unadilla, the motorcycle started to sputter. It slowed down near Main Street, and the rider jumped off and sprinted toward a nearby trailer park. Deputies chased him on foot, repeatedly calling out commands. He kept running until a deputy drew a Taser, and that’s when he finally surrendered.
