Mother's day is this Sunday. And to celebrate, we are taking Chris out for the Mother's Day brunch at Traditions in Johnson City. I'm not sure what we will do for the rest of the day, but something tells me we will end up at a casino.

We usually take Chris golfing on Mother's Day after we do brunch because she likes to golf. I guess we'll wait and see what the weather looks like come Sunday. We went golfing last year and only played nine holes because it was cloudy, cold, and raining.

This Sunday will mark the 15th Mother's Day without my mother. In a way it seems longer than 15 year, and sometimes it feels like it was last year. She passed away in January of 2004.

I think about her every day, but I'm sure I'll think about her even more on Sunday. Sometimes I think about her and just smile, other times I think of her and laugh because she had a great sense of humor, and other times I think of all the sacrifices she made for me and my six siblings and get a little teary-eyed.

If you're lucky enough to still have your mother, make sure you let her know that you love her and
you appreciate everything she's ever done for you. Not just on Mother's Day, but every day.

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers reading this
