The man sought in connection with a fatal stabbing near the IBM Glen nature preserve was taken into custody in Tioga County.

Authorities say 20-year-old Caleb Casteline has been charged with second-degree murder. He's suspected of attacking a Binghamton man at a large gathering off Robinson Hill Road in the Town of Union early Wednesday morning.

According to the Broome County Sheriff's Office, Casteline was taken into custody at a residence on Main Street in Apalachin around 9:25 p.m. Wednesday.

Investigators say someone brought 22-year-old Q-Quan Richardson of Virgil Street to Lourdes Hospital after he had been stabbed in the torso. Richardson was transferred to Wilson Medical Center, where he died several hours later.

Several dozen people had gathered for a party on a site once used for the IBM Gun Club. It's located across Robinson Hill Road from the IBM Glen parking lot.

An abandoned gun club building at the site of the gathering was covered with spray-painted graffiti and surrounded by trash, including alcohol containers. A fire continued to smolder at the site Wednesday afternoon.

Police say the property has been used frequently for late-night parties.
