SUNY Broome President Kevin Drumm to Retire
The man who has served as president of SUNY Broome Community College for more than a decade has announced his retirement plans.
Dr. Kevin Drumm, the college's seventh president, on Tuesday revealed he intends to retire on July 1, 2023.
Drumm, who is a native of Massachusetts, has served as SUNY Broome president since February 2010. Prior to coming to Broome County, he was president of the Northern Wyoming Community College District for several years.
Drumm also has been co-chair of the Southern Tier Regional Economic Development Council over the past two years.
Drumm has overseen several major SUNY Broome projects, including the 2014 opening of the Student Village on the town of Dickinson campus and the 2020 opening of the Culinary and Event Center in downtown Binghamton.
In a news release, SUNY Broome board chairman Anthony Paniccia said:
"The Board is extraordinarily grateful to Dr. Drumm for his leadership. His absolute dedication to advancing the college, coupled with his guidance through some of the most challenging times in the institution's history, will have an enduring impact on its future."
The SUNY Broome board of trustees plans to meet this summer to set up a recruitment process to select the college's next president.
