If you’ve been thinking about making a career change, finding more stable work, or simply want a job that doesn’t require years of schooling, SUNY Broome Community College has a new program that may be worth a closer look.

The college has officially launched a new CDL Class A truck driver training program designed to help students quickly move into the commercial trucking industry.

One of the biggest draws for many people is how quickly you can finish: the entire program takes just four weeks.

A Faster Path Into The Workforce

The reality is that not everyone has the time or money to spend years earning a degree; that’s exactly what makes this program stand out.

In just one month, students finish their training fully prepared to take the CDL exam and immediately start looking for work in the trucking industry.

With transportation companies still needing drivers, this could be a practical option for people looking for a fresh start or more dependable income.

Hands-On Experience

Unlike programs that keep you in a classroom all day reading from a textbook, this one combines classroom instruction with real behind-the-wheel training.

You’ll learn not only how to safely operate commercial vehicles, but also the rules, regulations, and responsibilities that come with the job.

Program leaders say there’s also a strong focus on safety and professionalism, which is exactly what employers are looking for.

Personalized Attention in Smaller Classes

Many people worry about feeling lost in a large class when learning a new skill.

That’s why SUNY Broome designed this program with smaller class sizes, giving students more opportunities for one-on-one instruction from experienced CDL professionals.

That means more opportunities to ask questions and build confidence before test day.

How to Get Started

The next training session begins May 11 and runs through June 4, with new classes scheduled each month.
