Cars, boats and motorcycles will soon be stored inside a former department store at the Oakdale Mall in Johnson City.

A storage company has started using space that had been occupied by the Bon-Ton store until August 2018.

The mall's management announced that TK Storage will operate where the store had been located. An online post noted that malls across the United States are evolving and employing more mixed uses.

A garage-style door has been installed on the east side of the mall off Reynolds Road.

According to a TK Storage announcement on social media, the monthly fee for cars, small boats and trailers will be $75. The fee for motorcycles is listed as $25.

Representatives of the mall and TK Storage did not return calls for comment.
