Experience Millions of Christmas Lights In Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania
Tunkhannock is not only home to the Christmas in Our Hometown celebration but was recently named one of the most Hallmark Christmas movie-esque towns in all of Pennsylvania.
Each December, the 7,000 or so residents of Tunkhannock join forces to turn their town into a place of magic as carolers stroll through the streets and horse-drawn wagons tour the town. Street lamps are wrapped in ribbon and garland, and storefronts are decorated for the holiday season.
While Tunkhannock celebrates the Christmas season for several weeks, the special two-day Christmas in Our Hometown Celebration features some added treats such as train rides with Santa, ice sculptures, a living nativity, a cookie walk, and more.
And, we can't forget the lights. Millions of glorious and twinkling lights are all on display at Stone Hedge Golf Course. The Stone Hedge Festival of Lights is open every night from Thanksgiving through New Year's Day, except for Christmas Eve.
Festival of Lights is a 2.5-mile drive-through Christmas light display and features more than four million lights. Admission rates do apply but we think this would be a fantastic way to end a day of celebrating the holidays after a road trip to Tunkhannock.
