Pennsylvania State Police are reporting several drug arrests in the Northern Tier over the past few days including one haul that netted over 1,000 bricks of heroin.

State Police say 31-year-old Frank Martinez of the Bronx was found with 50,000 bags of “smack” when they stopped his vehicle on Interstate 81 North in New Milford at 12:40 p.m. May 9.

Troopers say they found two boxes of bulk heroin when Martinez consented to a search of his vehicle.

He was sent to the Susquehanna County Jail on $250,000 dollars bail.

On May 8, 33-year-old Dustin Cook of Hallstead was found with a large amount of methamphetamine during a traffic stop at School and Wagner Roads in New Milford.  He’s charged with drug sale.

48-year-old Paul Hughes of Nicholson, Pennsylvania admitted he had methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in his possession during a traffic stop on Robinson Road in Lenox Township on April 25.  He was released following processing,  but Troopers say the investigation is continuing.
