The Devils put together "Slapshot Weekend" as a salute to the 1977 released movie Slapshot which starred Paul Newman and was based on the Johnstown Jets professional hockey team who were rivals of the Broome Dusters in the North American Hockey League.

As part of "Slapshot Weekend" festivities the team is holding VIP meet and greet sessions  prior to the hockey game and features Jerry Houser who portrayed Dave "Killer" Hanson and Allan Nicholls who was Johnny Upton in the film.  In addition former Duster standout Frank Hamill took part in skating scenes in the movie.  All three are on hand for the VIP sessions and an autograph session for fans during the first intermission.
