Binghamton Gets Ready to Step Into the Twilight Zone
If you're a fan of Rod Serling’s unforgettable worlds, get ready because Binghamton is about to celebrate its most famous hometown storyteller in a big way.
SerlingFest 2025 is on the horizon, and this year’s theme, “In His Own Words,” promises an unforgettable weekend for fans, film buffs, and anyone who’s ever been captivated by The Twilight Zone.
A Weekend Full of Serling Magic
Running from Friday, September 19, through Sunday, September 21, SerlingFest will bring the Broome County Forum Theatre to life with screenings, panels, readings, and more. Friday evening and all-day Saturday will be packed with events at the Forum, while Sunday moves to the scenic Recreation Park, home to the Rod Serling Memorial statue, for a free day of community fun.
Big Names, Big Stories
This year’s guest list is impressive. Writer and producer Frank Spotnitz (The X-Files), Emmy Award-winning writer Joseph Dougherty (Thirtysomething), and David Bianculli of NPR’s Fresh Air will be in town, along with Serling’s daughter, Anne Serling, author of As I Knew Him: My Dad, Rod Serling.
They’ll be joined by authors Mark Dawidziak (A Mystery of Mysteries), Mark Olshaker (Mindhunter), and Nicholas Parisi (Rod Serling: His Life, Work, and Imagination). Each will bring their own unique insight into Serling’s life, work, and enduring legacy.
More Than Just Panels and Screenings
Fans can expect a little bit of everything including rare interviews and speeches from Serling himself, screenings of his most iconic works, trivia contests, raffles, and book signings. Whether you’re a diehard fan or just curious to learn more, there’s something for every level of fandom.
Ticket Info
If you want to get the full experience, the weekend pass is $40 in advance ($50 at the door). Friday only tickets are $20 in advance ($25 at the door) and Saturday only tickets are $25 in advance ($30 at the door). Sunday’s event at the park is free for everyone.
