Broome County now has at least two people who have tested positive for COVID-19.

County Executive Jason Garnar Thursday afternoon announced the latest development, two days after he revealed the county's first confirmed coronavirus case.

Garnar provided no details about the latest person who had been diagnosed.

Officials say the case involves a Broome County resident but they would not reveal whether the person is hospitalized or is at home.

The first coronavirus patient was being treated at Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City. That patient's condition is not known.

Garnar said the results of tests on 117 more people are pending. He said test results are being received everyday.

Health officials say those who have had contact with people who have tested positive will be notified. They continue to encourage everyone to stay home. Those who must go out are advised to stay at least six feet from other people.
