If you or any of your kids have an allergy to peanuts, you know how much it affects your life. It shouldn’t, but, it does.

Well, scientists at the University of Florida think they've found a way to eliminate peanut allergies. The scientists blasted peanuts with pulses of ultraviolet light and in the end they were able to eliminate 80% of the allergens.

Eliminating 80% of the allergens is nice, but it's not good enough for people so severely affected by peanuts. Here's where the news gets better: scientists thing by tweaking the system, they could eventually wipe out 99% of the harmful stuff.

This could open those with peanut allergies to a whole new world of peanut butter cups and PB&J sandwiches.I wonder if the same could be done with all nuts. I'm allergic to almonds, but love the taste. I think it'd be amazing if allergens were able to be zapped from almonds as well!
