I've said for the longest time that Thursday the 13th was much worse than Friday the 13th. On Friday, we have the weekend just ahead of us but on Thursday, we still have 2 LONG DAYS LEFT!

So it's nice when we can get a pleasant distraction in the middle of the week. Today is "National Rubber Ducky Day" because Ernie from Seasame Street said the toy's birthday was on January 13th. He loved the duck so much that he always had it with him when it was time for a bath.

In fact, Ernie loved it so much that he would sing about it. Do you remember "Rubber ducky, you're the one. You make bath time lots of fun. Rubber ducky I'm awfully fond of you."  He wasn't the only one either, we loved it too. In fact, the Rubber Duckie song got as high as number 16 on the Billboard charts in 1970.

I thought I would try a little experiment in the studio and start to sing the song and see how Traci would respond. As I was singing the song, I couldn't help but smile and I noticed that Traci began to smile too. I'm not sure if it was my singing or the fact that I was done. I'm going with the latter.

Something else that I've noticed lately is how many people show off their rubber ducks on social media. My cousin, Wheels begins her day in the hot tub with her rubber ducky while listening to 98.1 the Hawk.

She'll send me a picture of the duck relaxing by the water and it makes my day better. I can also see what kind of morning it is too. It's the little things that make the difference in our everyday lives and for me, it's that rubber duck that my cousin sends to me. Thanks, Wheels!

On this Rubber Ducky Day, I'll leave you with this: You don't drown by falling into the water; you drown by staying there.
